However, if they show signs of caring, it is likely they are still emotionally attached to you and the relationship. Does this make sense?

Here’s a way to look at it. Think about a close friend who has really made you mad. It’s likely you were upset for a long time, because that individual means something to you and you were crushed by what they did. The reason you were upset with this person is because you care about them.

If a driver angers you while you are driving home from work, you may be annoyed for awhile. However, family feuds have gone on for years over a few stupid words that were spoken hastily. Of course this is disappointing, because these family members usually still cares significantly for the other. In most cases, everything could be resolved with only a simple ‘effective apology.’ Unfortunately, most people never realize that this is all that is needed to restore a relationship.
