Once the relationship has ended, it is important that you don’t run back to that relationship and that you don’t have any regrets from leaving. This will keep you from moving forward. Finding healthy ways to move forward is what has to happen. There aren’t many people who know how to get over someone without hurting themselves in some way. You have to make sure that you avoid these type of habits. We can’t go back and change the past, but we can figure out what took place that lead up to our situation. All too often we hear the “let’s be friends” line. While this may make things easier in the breakup, when brought to question about getting over someone, it makes it harder to remain in contact with the other person either meeting them in person or talking to them over the phone. As long as you are in immediate contact with that person, the pain will remain. “Out of sight, out of mind” is a saying that works well with breakups.
Even if after weeks have passed and you are not sure how to get over someone, don’t worry too much about it. There is no set time that someone is supposed to get over someone else. Depending on who you are will determine how you get over the breakup. If you get over a relationship quickly, then be happy. If you aren’t, give yourself some more time.
