How To Stop Blaming Other People

When tempers flare and emotions ride high it is very common to come across people who attach blame to the wrong people. This might be a normal occurrence to some but there are others who might find it unfair and depressing. As people we must learn how to be accountable for our own actions otherwise we run the risk of assuming we are always right. For anyone to grow as a person they must learn how to stop blaming other people.

We all make mistakes, no one is perfect. But sometimes we are blamed for mistakes that were not of our own making. In such circumstances we are prompted to pass on responsibility for such actions to others. But this shouldn’t be the case at ll. We must all take responsibility for our own actions and bear the full brunt of the consequences of such actions.

Everyone’s actions have consequences and if we passed on those consequences to other people it would be close to impossible for us to learn from our actions. Sometimes consequences can be very difficult to digest because of their complexity. So in all fairness it is imperative that we stop blaming other people because at the end of the day it is them who inevitably have to bear the brunt of our actions.

The first step towards healing encompasses an analytical approach. Looking at situations closely will reveal truths that we would never have seen. Take out a pen and identify key points pertaining to a particular problem. Write down all there is to the story and in the end make a neutral judgment of guilt or innocence. In the event of the analysis pointing blame to you it is important to take such blame and find a way out of a predicament.

Another thing you can do in order to stop blaming others is asking for someone else’s’ opinion on a selected matter. In a lot of cases such people normally offer advice that is unbiased. Take the opinions of more than 5 independent people and decide on who is to blame.

Being open and honest with yourself is an almost certain way of making sure that you avoid blaming someone who is innocent. Truthful self talk highlights the areas that were most incriminating and levels blame to the most deserving. If you do this properly enough you’ll be surprised by how you’ll stop blaming other people for your own actions.
